PST vs JST
Pacific Time (US & Canada) (PST/PDT) is UTC−8 in winter and UTC−7 in summer. Japan Standard Time (JST) is UTC+9 year-round.
Because Pacific Time (US & Canada) observes daylight saving and the other zone does not, the gap changes during the year: 17 hours ahead in the northern winter and 16 hours ahead in summer, with a few weeks in spring and autumn where it's an hour different again. The converter uses the exact rules for the date you choose.
