JST vs PST
Japan Standard Time (JST) is UTC+9 year-round. Pacific Time (US & Canada) (PST/PDT) is UTC−8 in winter and UTC−7 in summer.
Because Pacific Time (US & Canada) observes daylight saving and the other zone does not, the gap changes during the year: 17 hours behind in the northern winter and 16 hours behind in summer, with a few weeks in spring and autumn where it's an hour different again. Scheduling between JST and PST
With 16 hours between them there is little or no overlap in normal working hours; one side will be early morning or evening. 8 AM JST is 4:00 PM PST (−1 day), and 6 PM JST is 2:00 AM PST.
